Transitioning your home’s decor from summer to fall doesn’t have to be as tough as it sounds. Seasons change! Use this simple idea to “change” or add one or two things in each room that have to do with the season changing.

Add Warmth

Add the warm colors of fall – reds, oranges, yellows – to your décor. When the weather starts to get colder, add a warm throw and some cozy new pillows to your sofa. Add wheat, straw, cattails, and fall leaves arranged in vases or baskets around your home. Bring out everyone’s favorite sweater and slippers for easy access in family areas. Candles sprinkled throughout your home can also add a warm glow.

Make a Grand Entrance

Add mini haystacks, pumpkins or gourds to your front porch for easy fall decor. Perch an old container on a wooden box or stool, and fill it with a colorful fall plant. Switch out your front door mat for one made from natural materials. And don’t forget a wreath for the door.

Get Cozy in Outdoor Spaces
Now is the time of year to bring out your firepit – for cool, crisp nights and s’mores-making. Add an outdoor rug to your outdoor space, and a few throws to wrap up in after dark for a cozy cocoa with the family after dark this fall. Big outdoor candles in fire-safe containers will enhance your time outdoors this fall with the glow of the approaching holidays.
